Pat and I were very pleased to read Una Reilly has been named a
Member of the British Empire in the 2012 Honours List by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

We both had the pleasure and privilege of meeting Una at the Boston Convention in 2010 and joining her at the joint Titanic Societies convention in Belfast in May and June 2011. As I commented in my story on the Belfast convention published in "Voyage", "Because of all of you, we and the rest of us who attended will have a lifetime of memories never to be forgotten or surpassed." That's Una's way!

Una is truly one of a kind when it comes to organizing and caring for the RMS Titanic story and this MBE award that recognizes her "services to Maritime and Industrial Heritage in Northern Ireland". It is a lovely recognition of the dedicated role she has played all these years on behalf of Belfast, her country, and RMS Titanic.

Thank you for all you have done Una! You are one fine lady and are truly and deeply appreciated.

The video celebrating the 100th anniversary of the launching of RMS Titanic on 31 May 2011 is outstanding as are the many memories of that trip. They will remain with us forever! Likewise, the convention followup stories in "Voyage -77" will continue to reinforce that memory. While I keep all "Voyage" editions, "Voyage -77 will forever be a collector's item as it covers in grand detail this once in a lifetime experience for all who attended.

I am shocked to hear of Steve's death, He put so much effort in to the Britsh Titanic Society and conventions, I had some great times year after year at the Hilton in Southampton and a lot of it was down to how well Steve and the rest of the BTS Officers put the whole thing together.
You will be sadly missed and never forgotten.

I would like to add a newsletter in the september journal if thats ok. It's by george connor OBE its about ice, icebergs and icefield. George is chairman of the institute of marine engineers guild benevolence and represents the engineers on the titanic who lost their lives. Geogre has been associated with the titanic since he was a small boy in belfast he is an engineer himself. I think you will find his newsletter fascinating, the slide he shows is magnificent. The only thing he would like if this goes in the journal is a copy for himself, only as a one off. I dont know anything about computers but I can send it by post is it PO BOX 416 midland park, New Jersey?
