April- Titanic Remembrance Events
The 110th Anniversary of the Titanic tragedy is drawing nearer.
Further to the announcement made during our recent general meeting on Zoom, I am pleased to provide information on upcoming commemorative events.
Events co-hosted by TSAC on Thursday, April 14:
1. Titanic Together 2022
Titanic 110 – A virtual day of remembrance
A virtual series of presentations, in word and song, from Titanic Societies, historians, researchers, and descendants worldwide.
Presentations begin on Zoom at 10:15 am EDT (2:15 pm BST) from Belfast, NI, and end approx. 7:45 pm ADT (11:45 pm BST) with the Titanic-Halifax, Nova Scotia segment (this segment begins 5 pm ADT.)
All presentations are Free of charge – Registration for presentations is required, via Eventbrite.
E-mails with Eventbrite registration info, from both Belfast Titanic Society and TSAC will follow shortly.
2. 11 pm ADT: Titanic Memorial Ceremony, Fairview Lawn Lantern Cemetery – Titanic Burial Site
Gathering at the grave of the Unknown Child will begin at 10:45 pm, for 11 pm start.
A fiddler will provide Irish music of the period.
Please bring a lantern, flashlight, or use your cellphone flashlight.
Bell Toll – A Titanic replica bell will toll 6 times, in memory of RMS Titanic and RMS Carpathia, and the 4 ships involved in the recovery (CS Mackay-Bennett; CS Minia, CCG Montmagny; SS Algerine/SS Florizel).
The event will proceed if rain is forecast (please bring an umbrella); in case of a snowstorm, I will contact the membership to cancel.)
3. 11 pm EDT: Titanic 110 – Anniversary Livestream and Animation

Join Tom Lynskey and Team as they provide commentary, anecdotes, and answer questions from viewers, during the airing of Titanic sinking in real-time.

TIS is excited to announce the launch of our NEW podcast series! Beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 10th, we will be debuting the first of many interviews with experts. Featured for our maiden voyage will be our TIS President, Charles Haas, remembering his early days of research with TIS historian, John P.
